Job Description:
The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) Division provides industry leading metrology solutions for worldwide semiconductor IC manufacturers. The FaST Division portfolio of metrology products includes hardware and software solutions for optical film thickness, optical critical dimension (CD), composition, and resistivity measurement systems. These products are essential for the IC manufacturers as they provide critical metrology capabilities for the development and implementation of their advanced IC processes. The FaST division is committed to support our customers to achieve performance entitlement of our solution and we effectively partner with our customers from their early research and development phase to the high volume in-line manufacturing implementation specific for their process needs. The division consists of a global team located in US, Israel, China, and India.
 
Responsibilities:
Demonstrated ability in scientific programming; strong background in applied mathematics, computational electromagnetics (field theory), and knowledge of optical modeling especially as applied to scatterometry and thin film metrology. Knowledge of reflectometry and spectroscopic ellipsometry a plus.
 
Works on complex problems that impact the design success of current products or addresses broad design issues of future products or technologies. Tasks include: define future product development strategy, develop a problem statement, research into particular solutions, develop code, and test prototypes; design, code, and test/integrate into tool product software.
 
The candidate will be responsible for developing and improving algorithms, measurement capabilities, system optical models, calibrations development, and analysis tools for optical metrology applications.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Computational Physics highly desired with 3 yrs industrial experience.
Proficiency in computational methods, C++, and object oriented design.

The reticle inspection systems use optical imaging and multiple inspection modes to find all types of reticle defects prior to printing on the wafer. The metrology systems ensure quality reticle manufacturing by providing the best precision for reticle pattern placement and accurate measurement of reticles’ critical dimensions.
 
Responsibilities:
KLA-Tencor is seeking a talented individual for a staff engineer position in the world-class algorithm group within the reticle and photo mask inspection division (RAPID). The successful candidate is expected to design the next generation photo mask/reticle inspection systems.

This individual will utilize his/her skills in image processing, mathematics and software to render images from mask design for the purpose of defect inspection. One key qualification of the candidate is the ability to invent new ideas, analyze the complex system, and formulate a mathematical solution that is practical for use in production. A significant experience in C++ and object-oriented programming is essential. The candidate is expected to possess good oral and written communications skills to interact with other engineers and applications on a daily basis.
 
Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Develop the next generation of algorithms for semiconductor device and thin film metrology. The position requires a proven innovative track record in the related fields of algorithm development, statistical data analysis and signal processing, image analysis and machine learning. The candidate should have a background in engineering/math/physics and be comfortable and conversant in a range of disciplines from optics, information and noise analysis, solving optimization problems (forward and inverse).
 
The Algorithms Scientist will produce mathematical formulations, develop modeling tools, and perform data analysis and capability predictions on a variety of metrology technologies. The role will closely interface with other members of Advanced Development, Engineering, Algorithm and Application teams. The candidate should demonstrate ability to develop complex data analysis algorithms, software codes that can be used by others, understanding of experimental data analysis, and ability to guide others.
 
Education or experience must include:
1.Designing, developing, modifying and diagnosing complex algorithms, utilizing C#, C++, R, Matlab or other tools and languages;
2.Ability to invent, develop and implement new algorithms and ideas
3.Statistical analysis, modeling and optimization methods
4.Signal and image processing, computer vision and machine learning
5.Hands-on experience in object-oriented and functional programming
6.Hands-on experience with products such as JMP, R, Matlab is a plus
7.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
9.Semiconductor optical metrology experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related fields plus 3 years of relevant experience and accomplishments.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 2 years of experience.

1) Develop and execute software Test Plan, Procedures, and Execute Automated Test Scripts. Participate in all phases of software development life cycle.
2) Review Requirement Document and translate them to detailed test plans, test cases, scripts, test reports, etc.
3) Work with Multi Discipline Team (USA and India) to develop and execute test strategies and scripts.
4) Maintain well documented test case library and version control system for all testing materials and resources.

7) Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining test results.
8) Should be willing to travel to customer sites as well as work on flexible hours on a rotational basis.
9) Support SW team with reproducible issues from the field.
10) Maintain tools in the lab, support SW upgrades, troubleshoot SW issues, prepare tools for offshore team.

Preferred Qualifications:

a) 5+ years of software test experience testing multiple software projects and SW issues troubleshooting capability.
b) Software quality control experience using CMM.
c) Good communication, inter personnel skills and team co-ordination skills are required.
d) Candidate should be creative, result-oriented, disciplined, highly motivated, and able to work well individually and as part of a team and understand all phases of software testing and quality control.
e) Computer HW knowledge is advantage.
