| Posted: 19 Mar 2015 05:08 PM PDT Position: Senior Algorithm Engineer Location: Milpitas, CA Duration: Full time Job Description: SFS-ADE division of KLA-Tencor designs and develops wafer inspection and metrology equipment for semiconductor industry. SFS specializes in unpatterned wafer surface inspection tool that provides the sensitivity and throughput required for qualification of current and next-generation semiconductor wafer substrates, as well as qualification and monitoring of process tools. Wafer Sight products are metrology systems that measure bare wafer and pattern wafer geometry (e.g. wafer thickness, shape, edge roll off, flatness, and nano-topography) with unsurpassed precision & matching. Responsibilities: The job focuses on the development of image and signal processing algorithms for the next generations of optical inspection and metrology systems. The position requires a proven innovative track record and solid fundamental knowledge in the related fields of algorithm development, including phase unwrapping, image segmentation, texture analysis, classification, feature extraction, statistical data analysis, signal processing, filter theory. The responsibilities of this position covers the entire life cycle of algorithms, including modeling, proof-of-concept design, production software design and implementation, performance characterization, documentation and user support. Since algorithms can affect many aspects of the system, significant amount of time be spent on cross-function team collaboration for prototyping and testing. The candidate needs to be a self-motivated individual with ability to work independently or in a team. Strong written and verbal communications skills are needed for extensive interactions with members of a multi-disciplinary global team. Preferred Qualifications: a) The successful candidate is an independent and innovative thinker with solid fundamental knowledge and working experience in algorithm development. b) Experience in the following areas is required: two dimensional phase unwrapping, interferometry image analysis, linear systems, filter theory, feature extraction, pattern recognition, classification, texture analysis, image segmentation. c) Software skills required include C++, OOD/OOP, MATLAB and/or Python. Ph.D. in EE, Optics and Physics is preferred. Good communication skills are absolutely essential. Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate (Academic) with at least 2 years of experience. The FaST Division portfolio of metrology products includes hardware and software solutions for optical film thickness, optical critical dimension (CD), composition, and resistivity measurement systems. These products are essential for the IC manufacturers as they provide critical metrology capabilities for the development and implementation of their advanced IC processes. The FaST division is committed to support our customers to achieve performance entitlement of our solution and we effectively partner with our customers from their early research and development phase to the high volume in-line manufacturing implementation specific for their process needs. The division consists of a global team located in US, Israel, China, and India. Responsibilities: We are looking for a senior software engineer to support the development of the next generation film and CD measurement technology and hardware. Following the KLA-Tencor Product Lifecycle methods, the candidate will be required to participate in all phases of the software design/architecture, design reviews and requirements definition for systems and subsystems, and development/maintain of software features. Software requirements documents, analyzing software performance and development of critical software features are key responsibilities for this position. Other responsibilities for this position include interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams in the US and overseas, analyzing escalated issues, and bug fixes. The candidate may be required to travel to customer sites occasionally to support Beta tools or to address specific issues. Preferred Qualifications: BS or MS degree in physics/applied sciences/ computer science/electrical engineering or related fields with 5 plus years in commercial product development experience. Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates should be familiar with fast prototyping, and have excellent problem-solving skills. Prior experience in semiconductor equipment control and/or process control SW development would be considered a definite plus. 1) Excellent mathematical and analytical background. 2) Solid architecture and design experience using modular / OOP / OOD methodology. 3) Hands-on experience on C#/C++ programming including multi-threading on Windows platform 4) Software design, implementation and unit testing using Microsoft VS C# /C++ 5) GUI design and implementation using .Net framework. 6) Documentation of software design artifacts and algorithm specifications. 7) Collaboration with SQC team on test case development and test execution. 8) Experience on the metrology system, optics, semiconductor process is very desirable. 9) Solid experience on at least 2 scripting languages in javascript, python, and perl is a plus Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
